The Alicemay Hope Foundation

is a Lagos-based non-profit that is dedicated to providing quality basic education to women and girls in the most impoverished areas of Lagos, Nigeria. 

 

The foundation equips women and girls with the knowledge and skills necessary to adopt a healthy lifestyle, protect themselves from HIV/AIDS and other STDs and to take an active role in their community’s social and economic development.

We Will Not Be Silent Nigeria

is an account dedicated to spreading awareness about the rape culture in Nigeria, and using information to deconstruct it.

​

Their mission is to push for the education of boys and girls, inside and outside of the classroom on the topic of consent and other areas relating to sexual assault.

 

They are working on reaching out to schools in hopes that they can visit different schools and give talks and seminars on sexual assault. The goal is to get this information into the school system to give young people regular classes in these areas.

is a foundation for women and children in Nigeria.

It was founded in 2015, by Fadekemi Tejuoso

WE RISE INITIATIVE

The We Rise Initiative is wholly focused on empowering women and girls
to rise above 21st century oppression and the stigmatisation of feminism.

​

They utilise diverse forms of empowerment to benefit women and girls through education, general inspiration, and the eradication of prevalent oppressive actions such as Female Genital Mutilation, and Child Marriage. This organisation aims to empower, and to educate African women about their universal human rights, that many have unfortunately been denied in society today.

kyha foundation

Kyha Foundation

is an organisation dedicated to reinventing the image of Sickle Cell one day at a time. The organisation aims to utilize their platform not only to spread awareness, but to also address the lack of funding surrounding sickle cell research in Nigeria.

 

They want to ensure that there is funding for medication for people living with sickle cell, as well as for researching cures in Nigeria. As such, they hold fundraisers like their recent 'Movie Night for SS'.

Litre of Light Nigeria

consists of a group of people who are highly passionate about making a positive difference to the world through the gift of LIGHT.

 

To many, light is a convenience often taken for granted in this modern age, but there are still global communities that are in the dark. The organization believes that these communities should not be forgotten.

Through Liter of Light Nigeria, they teach marginalized communities how to use recycled plastic bottles and locally sourced materials to illuminate their homes, businesses, and streets.

The Kó Ba Le Dà Initiative

is an organization whose aim is to improve standards of living and health in rural communities around Nigeria. Ko ba le da is Yoruba for “so all can be well” and that’s their goal. 


They believe that education, access to healthcare, and clean water are basic rights thus, no child should have to choose.

Teach a Girl

is a non-government organisation established in 2015 with the aim to empower
Nigerian girls from low-income backgrounds. Their goal is to enable girls to
improve themselves and impact their communities.

 

The organization provides girls and young
women with an opportunity to gain an education through sponsorship and
mentorship. The organization also aims to raise awareness on the benefits of educating girls and
the obstacles they face in trying to gain an education.

sanitary aid ng

Sanitary Aid NG

also known as the Sanitary Aid for Nigerian Girls Organisation was established in January 2017 to address the needs of 65% of the Nigerian female population who do not have access to sanitary pads.

 

The organisation aims to provide free sanitary pads and other sanitary products including soaps, wipes, toilet bags, disinfectant, clean underwear etc. to girls from low-income families across public schools in Nigeria and girls in Internally Displaced Persons Camps across the country.
